Según el último informe de CoinGecko, el mercado NFT está atravesando un período de importantes dificultades.
A diferencia del resto de criptoactivos, donde hay un aumento de participación, en las bolsas de tokens no fungibles sigue siendo un mercado bajista.
La perspectiva surge tanto de los precios de las principales colecciones como de los volúmenes globales de ventas del mercado.

CoinGecko: el invierno criptográfico para el mercado NFT aún no ha terminado
Según CoinGecko, el mayor agregador independiente de datos de criptomonedas, El mercado NFT todavía se encuentra en un mercado bajista.
Del último informe publicado se desprende claramente cómo la comunidad ha reducido significativamente sus inversiones en el sector.
De hecho, si bien por un lado el mercado de criptoactivos ha crecido significativamente durante 2024, no podemos decir lo mismo de la contraparte de los tokens no fungibles.
Especialmente en el tercer cuarto, CoinGecko observa que los volúmenes de operaciones disminuyeron un 61%, de 3,1 a 1,2 mil millones de dólares. Al mismo tiempo, el volumen de préstamos NFT también cayó drásticamente, casi un 74%, pasando de 1.100 millones a 284 millones de dólares.
Tras el fuerte boom de 2021, este nicho de mercado no se ha recuperado, pese a seguir innovando tecnológicamente.
Los usuarios prefieren asignar su liquidez a activos que se liquiden más fácilmente y con mayores oportunidades de rendimiento.
A este sombrío escenario para el mercado NFT también contribuye la influencia de Bitcoin, que en los últimos 2 años ha aumentado su dominio sobre el resto del sector en un 50%.
Además, la ausencia de un panorama favorable a la especulación y la aparición de una amplia gama de opciones de inversión diferentes han agotado gran parte de la liquidez que estaba presente hasta hace poco en el mundo NFT.
Sin embargo, este tipo de activos únicos en su tipo siguen siendo un recurso fundamental para actividades como la tokenización, los juegos y el arte.
Cada vez más organizaciones están implementando tokens no fungibles dentro de sus actividades, lo que refleja el valor de utilidad de esta revolución aún subestimada por el mercado.
Precios de las principales colecciones según datos de CoinGecko
Según datos de CoinGecko, las principales colecciones del Mercado NFT están perdiendo valor en términos de dólares y ETH.
En comparación con los máximos históricos registrados a finales de 2021, hoy las cotizaciones de las colecciones más consolidadas se encuentran en fuerte caída.
Por ejemplo, el “CriptoPunks”, que en octubre de 2021 tenía un precio mínimo de 120 ETH, ahora vale solo 26,29 ETH.
Al convertir a FIAT según los precios históricos de Ethereum, la pérdida parece aún más dramática con más de 350.000 dólares de valor eliminados.
La capitalización total de la colección se mantiene en 267.742 ETH, equivalente a aproximadamente 700 millones de dólares.

El mismo destino del CriptoPunks también le ha sucedido a otros NFT en el mercado como el “Clubes náuticos Bored Ape”, “Azuki”, “Mad Lads” etc.
Como destacó CoinGecko, todas esas obras de arte criptográficas que experimentaron aumentos vertiginosos durante el último mercado alcista se encuentran ahora en el gélido mercado bajista.
Sólo se salvan algunas excepciones de colecciones creadas más recientemente, como Milady y Pudgy Penguins, que han aumentado su precio mínimo durante el año pasado.
En cualquier caso, la semana pasada hubo una pequeña señal de recuperación: mientras el mercado de las criptomonedas caía, la capitalización de mercado de los NFT aumentó un 0,58%.
Podría ser el comienzo de una larga fase de recuperación de las cotizaciones, que deberán confirmarse en los próximos meses para ganar credibilidad.

Los volúmenes de ventas disminuirán para el mercado NFT a lo largo de 2024
Como se menciona en el informe CoinGeckoincluso los volúmenes de ventas de NFT están en fuerte caídalo que refleja el escaso interés del mercado por estos productos.
En los últimos 30 días, las ventas en Ethereum han disminuido un 43% hasta los 110 millones de dólares.
Lo mismo en Bitcoin y Solana cayeron un 16% y un 39%, respectivamente, mientras que la mayor pérdida se produjo en Polygon con una tasa de caída del 70%.
En total, el mercado NFT procesó ventas por 303 millones de dólares en el mes de septiembre, frente a los 370 millones del mes anterior.
Este escenario se mantiene sin cambios desde diciembre de 2023, con datos en tendencia bajista para cada mes siguiente.
Sólo en marzo de 2024 se produjo un aumento en los volúmenes de negociación, respaldado por la euforia general del mercado, que luego se atenuó en las semanas siguientes.
Desde CoinGecko y CryptoSlam Según los datos, observamos que en comparación con el máximo de diciembre, las ventas han disminuido en más de 1,4 mil millones de dólares.
Si tomamos como referencia el máximo histórico de enero de 2022, cuando las ventas alcanzaron los 6.000 millones de dólares, las pérdidas alcanzan el 95%.

Es evidente que el mercado NFT sigue en crisis y no ha logrado salir del mercado bajista de 2022.
El primer indicador de una recuperación en este sentido sería ver durante dos meses consecutivos volúmenes de ventas superiores a los mil millones de dólares, mostrando continuidad en las especulaciones.
Hasta entonces, es probable que el sector NFT siga teniendo un rendimiento inferior al de Bitcoin y otros tokens criptográficos.
