Ripple está lanzando un nuevo conjunto de servicios de almacenamiento criptográfico diseñado para ayudar a los bancos y empresas de tecnología financiera a almacenar y administrar criptoactivos de forma segura, según un nuevo informe de CNBC. La iniciativa es parte de la estrategia de Ripple para diversificar su oferta más allá de las operaciones tradicionales de liquidación de pagos.
Al analizar el último desarrollo, Aaron Slettehaugh, vicepresidente senior de producto de Ripple, dijo que el objetivo es satisfacer las crecientes necesidades de las empresas que operan en los sectores de criptografía y fintech.
“Con nuevas características, Ripple Custody está ampliando sus capacidades para servir mejor a las empresas de tecnología financiera y criptográficas de alto crecimiento con una custodia de activos digitales segura y escalable”, dijo Slettehaugh.
Según Ripple, las nuevas funciones vienen con una interfaz más fácil de usar para almacenar y administrar activos digitales. Los servicios también incluyen configuraciones operativas y de políticas avanzadas, integración con XRP Ledger y monitoreo mejorado contra el lavado de dinero para garantizar el cumplimiento.
Bajo la marca Ripple Custody, la empresa planea permitir a los clientes tokenizar activos del mundo real utilizando su XRP Ledger.
Ripple Custody opera en varios países y cuenta con la confianza de varias empresas importantes como HSBC, BBVA, Societe Generale y DBS. Ripple dijo que su división de custodia experimentó un crecimiento de clientes de más del 250% año tras año.
La expansión de Ripple en el sector de custodia sigue a sus adquisiciones de Metaco y Standard Custody & Trust Company, con el objetivo de reforzar las capacidades de custodia de Ripple.
La expansión posiciona a Ripple frente a empresas establecidas en el mercado de custodia de criptomonedas, que se prevé que supere los 16 billones de dólares para 2030. Ripple Custody compite directamente con soluciones de custodia bien establecidas de Coinbase, BitGo y Gemini.
Ripple se está preparando para ingresar al mercado de las monedas estables con su próxima moneda estable, Ripple USD (RLUSD). RLUSD se encuentra en pruebas beta, y se están realizando pruebas en las cadenas de bloques XRP Ledger y Ethereum.
Al igual que con su movimiento de custodia, Ripple enfrenta desafíos al ingresar a un mercado abarrotado de monedas estables dominado por actores establecidos. Si bien existe potencial para RLUSD, necesitará diferenciarse de las ofertas existentes para ganar terreno.
