Grayscale Investments ha presentado una solicitud ante la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores de EE. UU. (SEC) para convertir su fondo mixto de criptomonedas en un fondo cotizado en bolsa (ETF).
Este desarrollo se produce cuando Canary Capital hace planes para un ETF al contado de Litecoin.
El nuevo ETF de Grayscale
Actualmente cotizando en el mercado extrabursátil, el Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) de Grayscale tiene 524 millones de dólares en activos bajo gestión. Según empresa documentaciónBitcoin (BTC) representa el 75% de la cartera y Ethereum (ETH) representa el 19%. El resto se compone de Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) y XRP.
Si se aprueba, Grayscale espera cotizar el ETF en la Bolsa de Valores de Nueva York (NYSE). El intercambio ya archivado un formulario 19b-4 con la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores (SEC) que respalda la conversión.
Este movimiento sigue al éxito de Grayscale a principios de este año al convertir sus fondos Bitcoin (GBTC) y Ethereum (ETHE) y versiones más pequeñas de ambos en ETF.
En septiembre, la empresa también lanzó un fideicomiso XRP dedicado para rastrear el precio del token. Al igual que sus fondos existentes de Bitcoin y Ethereum, este fideicomiso podría convertirse en un ETF de XRP al contado.
A pesar de los continuos desafíos legales de Ripple con la SEC, el director ejecutivo Brad Garlinghouse ha expresado su confianza en que XRP eventualmente tendrá su propio ETF.
Grayscale no es el único jugador que busca ingresar al mercado de ETF de XRP. En las últimas semanas, Bitwise y Canary Capital han registrado sus solicitudes en la SEC para ETF al contado de XRP. Estos fondos tienen como objetivo rastrear el precio del token utilizando el índice CF Ripple de la Bolsa Mercantil de Chicago.
Canary Capital apunta al ETF de Litecoin
Mientras tanto, Canary Capital también ha revelado planes para un ETF de Litecoin. Según su propuestael ETF mantendría Litecoin (LTC) y utilizaría el índice de precios CoinDesk Litecoin para establecer su valor liquidativo diario.
MonedaGecko datos muestra que LTC tiene una capitalización de mercado de casi $ 5,3 mil millones, lo que la convierte en la 26ª criptomoneda más grande.
En declaraciones compartidas por la reportera de Fox Business Eleanor Terret, Canary Capital descrito Litecoin como un activo digital confiable y de larga data con un importante potencial institucional.
“Con su sólida base, Litecoin continúa desempeñando un papel de liderazgo en el ecosistema de criptomonedas más amplio, lo que Canary cree que podría hacerlo atractivo para una gama más amplia de inversores institucionales”, se lee en el comentario.
A principios de este mes, un portavoz de la firma de capital de riesgo expresó optimismo sobre el posible consentimiento de la SEC a estos fondos, citando “señales alentadoras de un entorno regulatorio más flexible” tras aprobaciones anteriores.
