BlackRock está avanzando en el mercado de derivados criptográficos integrando su fondo de mercado monetario tokenizado, BUIDL, como garantía para las operaciones criptográficas, según un informe por Bloomberg.
El gigante de la gestión de activos está en conversaciones con los principales intercambios de cifrado, incluidos Binance, OKX y Deribit, con el objetivo de ampliar el uso de BUIDL en derivados.
Ya aceptada por los principales corredores FalconX y Hidden Road, la adopción de BUIDL podría desafiar a las monedas estables dominantes como USDT y USDC en los mercados de garantía.
Con una inversión mínima de 5 millones de dólares, el token BUIDL de BlackRock está diseñado para inversores institucionales. Al aceptarlo como garantía, BlackRock pretende ofrecer una alternativa altamente líquida y segura para los operadores de derivados.
Esto podría sacudir el dominio actual del USDT, que tiene un valor de mercado de 120 mil millones de dólares y es la garantía más utilizada en derivados criptográficos.
BlackRock lanzó su token BUIDL en marzo de 2024 como parte de su Fondo de Liquidez Digital Institucional en USD. El token es una representación basada en blockchain de un fondo tradicional del mercado monetario que invierte en activos como letras del Tesoro de EE. UU. y acuerdos de recompra.
BUIDL se distingue de otras monedas estables por ofrecer intereses a sus tenedores, lo que la convierte en una opción atractiva para los inversores institucionales que buscan tanto rendimiento como seguridad.
Si intercambios como Binance, OKX y Deribit integran BUIDL, el token podría convertirse en un estándar para garantía institucional, proporcionando una alternativa regulada y rentable a las monedas estables existentes.
Además de centrarse en BUIDL, BlackRock ha estado liderando activamente el espacio ETF de Bitcoin. Sólo desde principios de octubre, BlackRock ha adquirido más de 2.200 millones de dólares en Bitcoin, lo que representa el 8% de sus tenencias totales de Bitcoin.
El liderazgo de BlackRock en la adquisición de ETF al contado de Bitcoin ampliará su influencia tanto en los mercados al contado como en los de derivados. La integración de BUIDL como garantía para las operaciones de derivados podría complementar su estrategia Bitcoin, permitiendo una presencia diversificada en los mercados criptográficos.
