El avance se produce después de que el director ejecutivo de BlackRock, Larry Fink, respaldara a Bitcoin como una clase de activo viable.
Durante la convocatoria de resultados del tercer trimestre de 2024, Fink reconoció oficialmente a Bitcoin como una clase de activo distinta, comparándolo con materias primas tradicionales como el oro. Señaló que BlackRock estaba discutiendo posibles asignaciones de Bitcoin con instituciones de todo el mundo.
