Los fondos cotizados en bolsa (ETF) al contado de Ethereum han experimentado varios desarrollos esta semana luego de la aprobación de la cotización el 23 de mayo. El más notable es que ARK Invest de Cathie Wood suspendió sus planes de ETF al contado de Ethereum. Un portavoz de ARK declaró en un correo electrónico que buscaría mejores oportunidades para los inversores.
“En este momento, ARK no seguirá adelante con un ETF de Ethereum”, el portavoz. fijado. “Continuaremos evaluando formas eficientes de brindarles a nuestros inversionistas exposición a esta tecnología innovadora de una manera que libere todos sus beneficios”.
Los comentarios siguen al formulario S-1 actualizado de 21Shares para su producto Ethereum, que ya no nombra a ARK Invest como socio del ETF. El ETF propuesto también se cambió de Ark “21Shares Ethereum ETF” a “21Shares Core Ethereum ETF”.
ARK Invest cooperó con 21Shares en la búsqueda de un visto bueno regulatorio para lanzar un fondo Bitcoin al contado. Las dos empresas de gestión de activos ampliaron su asociación y solicitaron ofrecer ETF al contado de Ethereum en septiembre del año pasado. En ese momento, la decisión de la SEC sobre los ETF de Bitcoin al contado todavía estaba en suspenso.
Después de obtener la aprobación de la SEC en enero, su ETF de Bitcoin al contado, ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), debutó en cotización en el CBOE el 11 de enero. Al 31 de mayo, ARKB mantiene alrededor 3.200 millones de dólares en Bitcoin (BTC).
Si bien Ark deja de lado sus planes de ETF de Ethereum por ahora, la compañía afirma su compromiso continuo con su ETF de Bitcoin.
“21Shares y ARK siguen siendo socios comprometidos en el ETF de Bitcoin de ARK 21Shares, que se lanzó en enero, así como en nuestra línea existente de productos de futuros”, confirmó 21Shares en un comunicado.
Presentaciones puntuales de ETF de Ethereum: resumen semanal
Lo más destacado de esta semana son los formularios S-1 actualizados de los emisores de ETF. Al momento de esta publicación, los ocho emisores habían presentado sus presentaciones requeridas a la SEC.
La enmienda S-1 de VanEck se presentó el día de su aprobación. BlackRock hizo lo mismo con una presentación actualizada a principios de esta semana. Otros emisores también enviaron sus presentaciones enmendadas antes del viernes, fecha de vencimiento establecida por la SEC.
El ETF Ethereum propuesto por Hashdex fue retirado el 24 de mayo, un día después de que la SEC diera luz verde a los otros ocho fondos, excepto el de Hashdex. Hashdex también fue el único emisor sin una presentación 19b-4 enmendada antes de la decisión del ETF de Ethereum.
Fidelity es el único emisor que divulga su comisión de gestión en su presentación actualizada. Su comisión prevista es del 0,19%.
El siguiente paso implica que la SEC revise y proporcione comentarios sobre las presentaciones. Según una fuente con conocimiento de la situación, este proceso podría implicar al menos dos rondas adicionales de revisiones de los documentos S-1.
