Guggenheim Treasury Services y la plataforma blockchain Zeconomy emitieron 20 millones de dólares en papel comercial tokenizado en la blockchain Ethereum.

Guggenheim Treasury Services, una subsidiaria del gigante de servicios financieros Guggenheim Partners, ha emitido 20 millones de dólares en papel comercial tokenizado en la cadena de bloques Ethereum, anunció el jueves su socio, la plataforma blockchain Zeconomy.
Un portavoz del Guggenheim confirmó que la transacción se llevó a cabo pero no hizo más comentarios.
La tokenización se produce semanas después de que el gigante industrial alemán Siemens AG emitió papel comercial digital a través de Onyx del megabanco JPMorgan y la plataforma blockchain SWIAT.
La tokenización de instrumentos financieros tradicionales, conocidos como activos del mundo real (RWA), se ha convertido últimamente en una de las áreas más populares de las criptomonedas para que las empresas de TradFi incursionen. El nicho ha crecido hasta convertirse en un $12 mil millones de capitalización de mercado, incluyendo 2 mil millones de dólares en valores tokenizados del gobierno de EE. UU., según una firma de investigación RWA.XYZ.

El papel comercial recibió la calificación P-1, la calificación crediticia más alta disponible para dichos instrumentos, por parte de Moody’s Investors Service. El papel comercial es deuda no garantizada a corto plazo (menos de un año, generalmente 30 días) emitida por corporaciones.
Si bien RWA es una nueva dirección para Guggenheim, que cuenta con la friolera de 300 mil millones de dólares en activos bajo administración (AUM), la firma de inversión global ha participado anteriormente en el ecosistema criptográfico.
Los Macro Opportunities Funds de la empresa han sido autorizados durante años a asumir hasta un 10% de exposición al antiguo Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), que en enero se convirtió en uno de los fondos cotizados en bolsa (ETF) de bitcoin (BTC) al contado.
