Un lote seleccionado de NFT Ethereum centrados en Bored Ape Yacht Club de Yuga Labs se subastará en Sotheby’s el 18 de junio, lo que proporcionará una prueba con guantes blancos del poder de permanencia de los activos con temática de Ape en la comunidad de bellas artes.
El lote de coleccionables incluye una imagen de perfil NFT (PFP) del Bored Ape Yacht Club, adornada con un chaleco de trabajo de cuero y una “diadema de chef de sushi”. Conocido como Mono #8552uno de los principales puntos de venta del NFT es su antiguo propietario, ahora en quiebra, aparte del pelaje de oro macizo del Simio, por supuesto.
El NFT, que alguna vez fue un activo en poder de Three Arrows Capital (3AC), un fondo de cobertura criptográfico eliminado en medio del tumulto generalizado del mercado de 2022, está acompañado de otras obras de arte digital. Entre ellos se incluyen dos NFT con pelaje dorado de la colección Mutant Ape Yacht Club de Yuga y una representación de un perro de la línea Bored Ape Kennel Club de Yuga.
Los NFT de las colecciones de imágenes de perfil suelen incluir varios rasgos aleatorios. Además de la procedencia de un objeto de colección, pueden tener una influencia enorme en el valor de una NFT.

El Ape más barato que esté a la venta en un mercado secundario, por ejemplo, le costaría a alguien alrededor de 48.000 dólares hoy en día, según Precio mínimo de NFT. Pero sólo 46 de 10.000 simios fueron acuñados con pelaje dorado, y el último se vendió por 933.000 dólares o 247 ETH en marzo.
De las ventas en cadena rastreadas por el mercado NFT Mar abierto, nueve de las 12 ventas más altas de Bored Ape involucraron simios con pelaje dorado. Y esta característica ha beneficiado a Sotheby’s antes. En 2021, la casa de arte facilitó un récord Venta de 3,4 millones de dólares de un Bored Ape con pelaje dorado.
Haciendo referencia al año en que Yuga Labs lanzó su línea Bored Ape, el director de arte digital y NFT de Sotheby’s, Michael Bouhanna, describió a Bored Ape como una “reliquia de 2021” en Twitter (también conocido como X).
Mientras tanto, el investigador de NFT que publica como Punk9059 en Twitter resaltado los precios que 3AC pagó inicialmente por los activos. Al recoger los NFT de Ape y Kennel Club en julio de 2021, la cuenta indicó que 3AC gastó 106 ETH, alrededor de $ 401,000 a los precios actuales.

Como serie derivada lanzada en agosto de 2021, Mutant Apes podría crearse utilizando un “suero mutante” token otorgado a los poseedores existentes de la colección Bored Ape. Los poseedores de Bored Ape tuvieron que “transformar” su Ape existente, o comprar uno del lote de 10,000 Mutant Apes adicionales lanzados por Yuga en una venta pública.
Si bien los Bored Apes ultra raros todavía pueden alcanzar precios elevados, los precios de los más comunes han bajado dramáticamente desde que Apes lanzó precio mínimo pico de casi $ 430 000 en abril de 2022. El año pasado, esa cifra, conocida como precio mínimo, cayó a $ 47 500 (12,6 ETH) desde $ 84 250 (46 ETH) en medio del propio ascenso de Ethereum.
Las obras de arte propiedad del mencionado 3AC, que fueron vendidas por liquidadores para cubrir deudas pendientes, ya han causado sensación en Sotheby’s. Hace un año, Ringers #879, una obra de arte generativa conocida como “The Goose”, dibujó un Venta de 6,2 millones de dólaresincluidos los honorarios de la casa de subastas.
